In this mini course I will focus on a few basic but essential steps that will take your playing to the next level. Although it is focused on playing rhythm but it will help lay the foundation you need if you intend to play solos and improvisation using different scales.

I will start by introducing the natural minor scale in A minor, E minor. Then the Phrygian mode, which is basically a natural minor scale with a minor second. Next will move to the one of the most common scales used in Egyptian, Arabic, middle-eastern, oriental music; the Phrygian Dominant scale.

8 tracks are prepared to practice with. In a variety of tempos, degrees and scales. With each track you will find:

Video demo

Audio (original track)

Audio (Drum & Bass Practice track -rhythm guitar)

Guitar Pro tab with notation

Pdf and image tabs

Scale diagram

Here is what you will gain by using this course:

1-      Fretboard memorization: An easy way to remember the notes on the fretboard which is one of the most important (however boring) steps when you start to play. This course will make it fun and easy by memorizing the fret numbers used in the tabs first.

2-      Switching between chords: It might be difficult at first when you play open and barre-chords, but using power chords as a start will make things much easier and will make playing chords come naturally later.

3-      Ear training: By internalizing the unique sound of power chords and the unique sound of each scale. The difference in sound between minor, Phrygian and Phrygian dominant will be crystal clear and that will be very useful as you progress in studying other scales/modes.

4-      Time and feel: Practicing with live drum beats and basslines will be much fun compared to metronome, it will be musical and automatically will improve your sense time.

5-      Right hand: Playing rhythm is one of the most useful ways to improve stamina and durability in both left and right hands, most beginners focus on the left hand, but balancing the strength of both hands is essential to any serious guitarist.

6-      Play your favorite songs: If you are still beginning your guitar playing journey you will benefit a lot from this practice. It will help you to cover your favorite bands and play the songs you always loved. This will help you understand and analyze those songs then you might begin working on your own.

Requirements:

Ability to read guitar tabs.

Tux guitar , or Guitar pro application.

Hope you find this course helpful and joyful.
